Mole Traps and Gopher Traps

There are basically three choices of mole control or gopher control: 

                                                                                             1]  Buy mole traps or gopher traps to catch and kill them.  

                                                                                             2]  Poison them.  

                                                                                             3]  Capture them for relocation.

You can do it yourself or spend the money to hire a service.

The most effective and best mole control and gopher control is to trap!!

It is important to identify which animal is at work. A mole trap designed to catch moles usually won’t catch a pocket gopher, nor will a gopher trap catch a mole.  Mole activity usually shows up either as ridges of upheaved soil, created where runways are constructed as the mole forages for food, or as surface tunnels and mounds.  Gophers construct many mounds. 

 The success or failure of these traps depends largely on the trapper’s knowledge of the mole’s habits and the trap mechanism.

The Harpoon trap has sharp spikes that impale the mole when driven into the ground by the spring.
 
The Out O’ Sight trap has scissorlike jaws that close firmly across the runway, one pair on either side of the trigger-pan.
 
The Nash trap has a choker loop that tightens around the mole’s body.
